If you’ve planned to upgrade your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge to something latest in the market, there are still many things to cheer about the device, at least try the latest Android Oreo 8.0 Update on it. However, the update is rolling out in UK via over-the-air. But as it seems, the update will be given to other regions as well in another couple of weeks.
Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge Oreo update
As we have seen earlier, Samsung believes in rolling out an update in batches and certainly this time also Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in the UK getting the update but according to the news across the internet, wider release of Android Oren will be sometime in mid-May.
Samsung is now rolling out firmware version G930FXXU2ERD5 and G935FXXU2ERD5 for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge respectively in the United Kingdom. The firmware is only available over-the-air right now and can’t be downloaded through SmartSwitch.
If you’re in UK and still didn’t get the notification for the update, you can try manually pulling the update by going to the Software update menu in the Settings app. The update won’t be immediately available for carrier-branded units, though.
The ball is now rolling on Oreo for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge so users across the globe can rest assured that they will receive a taste of Oreo sooner rather than later. We’ll surely let you know as soon as the firmware is rolled out in more markets.
