How to root Pixel on Android P

Here in this article, you will find how to root Pixel on Android P. Couple of month ago, Google released its latest Android P developer preview for the Pixel, pixel XL, Pixel XL and Pixel XL 2 smartphones. You can download Android P developer preview on your Pixel smartphones from here, and install the same by following the instructions here.


  • Make sure your device charged up to 70%.
  • Make sure your device bootloader is unlocked. Check How to Here
  • This tutorial is only for google pixel devices. Don’t try it on others devices.
  • Make sure to take a complete backup of your device.
  • Make sure you have installed TWRP recovery on your Google Pixel devices.
  • Make sure you have installed proper drivers on your PC or Laptop for the Huawei Nova Plus.
  • Enable your device USB debugging and OEM unlock.
  • Open Settings> About device> Software info on your Google pixel devices.
  • Now scroll to Build number and tap it 7 times.
  • After tapping the Build Number 7 times, you will see a message “You are now a developer!” or “Developer mode has been enabled”.

How to root Pixel on Android P

  • Download the latest file from the download section.
  • Now connect your phone and transfer the .Zip file to your device internal storage.
  • Disconnect your phone and reboot it in TWRP recovery mode.
  • Now tap on the install option.
  • Use Volume Up and Down keys for navigation and Power key for confirming an option.
  • Select the file and flash it.
  • After that tap on the reboot option.

That’s it. Now your Google Pixel phone rooted which running on Android P developer Preview 1.
