Android Oreo based CarbonROM Now Available for Google, OnePlus, Sony, Xiaomi and Other Devices

The developers who have been working hard for CarbonROM custom ROM the last couple of months. They were quite active on the forums, mostly at XDA to release the update at the earliest to the more number of devices. In fact, last week they released CarbonROM for the Honor View 10, we must thank the Honor Open source program that helped them do it faster than others. Later, their team announced Android Oreo based CarbonROM custom ROM for 19 different devices.

However, this is the first batch that they have released and includes 19 devices across 5 different smartphone manufacturers (Google, OnePlus, Sony, Xiaomi, Essential). These new devices that are now supported by CarbonROM Noct (based on Android Oreo) include the following devices:

  • Essential Phone
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 6P
  • Pixel 2 XL
  • OnePlus One
  • OnePlus 2
  • OnePlus 3
  • OnePlus 3T
  • OnePlus 5
  • Sony Xperia X
  • Sony Xperia XZ
  • Sony Xperia XZ Premium
  • Sony Xperia XZ1
  • Sony Xperia Z2
  • Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (WiFi only)
  • Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (castor)
  • Sony Xperia Z3
  • Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

Owners of the other 19 devices listed above can ignore the information that is specific to the Pixel 2 XL. For everyone that doesn’t have the Pixel 2 XL, the team recommends you use the MindTheGapps package (linked on the CarbonROM download page) but says that all other GApps solutions should work just fine as well.
